What we store

The answers you type (locations, names, contacts). An email address — either one you add, or the one on your Google or Apple account when you sign in that way — used to send sign-in links and identify your household. If you sign in with Google, we also store the name on that account; Apple sign-in doesn't share your name with us. If you turn on notifications, we store a device token so we can reach that device. We also keep a short record of sign-in and invite attempts, including IP address, to stop abuse. That's the design: OurHut never asks for documents, account numbers, passwords, or health records, and includes checks to keep them out.

What we don't do

No advertising trackers, no selling or sharing of your information with third parties for marketing, no profiling. Payments are handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store — payment details never touch OurHut.

Who can see your household

Only someone using a signed-in device that's part of your household — either the original device, or a new device an existing member approved. There are no read-only links; access always requires that approval step. OurHut staff do not browse household content except when required to operate or secure the service.

Where it lives

Your answers are stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest.

Removing your data

Clearing your answers in the app removes them from your household. To have a household deleted entirely, contact us through the app store listing and we'll remove it.
